David G. Perryman

Chairman
David Perryman, J.D., is Chief Operating Officer of Drug Innovation Ventures at Emory University (DRIVE) in Atlanta. He was formerly President, CEO and a founder of Zirus. David has played many roles in his 25 years in the biotechnology industry. In addition to Zirus, David has founded two other biotechnology companies: one was acquired and the second became a publicly traded company. David has served on the Board of Directors of these and other biotechnology companies.
Prior to joining Zirus, he was a shareholder and head of the Biotechnology Patent Practice group at Needle & Rosenberg, an IP boutique law firm. He practiced biotechnology patent law for 20 years delivering patent business strategy to biotech companies, venture capital funds, the CDC, NIH, FDA and numerous universities. He also served as a founder and special advisor to Georgia Venture Partners, a state associated biotech venture capital fund.
David served as a panelist at the Institute of Medicine’s Countermesure/Bioterrorism policy meeting (2010) as well as a featured presenter in Developments in Biodefense and Technology Platforms at the 8th Annual BioDefense Summit 2010. He received the 2014 Industry Growth Award from GaBio, considered the top award in Georgia for contribution to the state’s biotechnology industry.

He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pernix Therapeutics, LLC. From December 2005 to December 2007, he served as Vice President of Business and Product Development at Pernix and from December 2003 to December 2005, he served as Pernix’s Territory Manager. He was responsible for acquiring companies and products, attracting investors and increasing the overall efficiency. He served at the NFL franchise The New Orleans Saints in their media relations department for three years. He has been a Director of Oncternal Therapeutics, Inc. since February 22, 2017.
He has been an Independent Director of TherapeuticsMD, Inc. since February 28, 2012. He serves as a Director of Pernix Sleep, Inc. and Anthem Vault Inc. He served as a Director of Pernix Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. from January 1, 2007 to February 2014. Mr. Collins earned a BA and an MBA from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

She has a reputation for excellence in creating high performance global teams and organizations and for administering multi-million dollar budgets. A technopreneur, Karan serves as a board member and advisor for technology start-ups, colleges, universities and industry standards organizations.
David Huizenga

David has served in a variety of corporate management roles including, as the Chief Technology Officer of Zirus, Inc. an antiviral company, where he was engaged in management of the Zirus patent portfolio, licensing, and competitive intelligence. Mr. Huizenga was a leader in the translation of the company’s science strategy to its patent and business strategy. Before joining the Zirus team, Mr. Huizenga was a partner and the founding member and head of the Patent Team at Arnall Golden Gregory, and prior to this he was a shareholder, and the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Venture Investment at Needle & Rosenberg, PC.
Mr. Huizenga obtained his Ph.D. from Harvard, in the laboratory of Jack Szostak, Nobel Laureate in Medicine, and his Law Degree from Emory University Law School, where he was a Woodruff Fellow. Mr. Huizenga serves on numerous corporate and non-profit boards.

Dr. Kyle Reed

He was a Fellow working jointly in the world renowned laboratories of Collaborative Haptics and Robotics in Medicine Lab at Stanford University (Haptics Exploration) and the Locomotion in Mechanical and Biological Systems (LIMBS) Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University (LIMBS). He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, working in the Neuroscience and Robotics Lab (LIMS). He is a leader in Human-Robot-Human (HRH) interactions, with particular applicability to physical therapy.
This work is particularly impactful in the implementation of Moterum Technologies’ iStrideTM device system which links up the activities and efforts of the stroke user during their rehabilitation and all those they want to share this with, such as their grandchildren and friends which links up the activities and efforts of the stroke user during their rehabilitation and all those they want to share this with, such as their grandchildren and friends. Dr. Reed is a Co-Inventor of the iStride Device, and Director of the Gait Laboratory, and is currently a tenured Associate Professor at the University of South Florida, Department of Mechanical Engineering, 2016-present.
Elizabeth DuBose

Elizabeth DuBose received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008, from the Medical University of South Carolina, along with an M.S. in Rehabilitation Science, Physical Therapy. Elizabeth is currently the Manager of Therapies at Greenville Health System-Roger C Peace Rehabilitation Hospital and the Greenville Memorial Hospital Sub-Acute unit both in Greenville, SC and North Greenville Long Term Acute Care Hospital in Travelers Rest, SC.
She is active and involved in the stroke program at Greenville Memorial Hospital, which is a Comprehensive Stroke Center certified by the Joint Commission and sits on the Greenville Memorial stroke advisory team. She has held numerous clinical positions, in outpatient and inpatient settings, with specializations and emphasis on neurorehabilitation. Elizabeth has been instrumental in helping Roger C Peace receive five CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accreditations for Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Injury, Stroke, Amputee, and Comprehensive Rehabilitation.
She is on the Board of Directors, and current Board Chair, of the Brain Injury Association of South Carolina (BIASC) and is the co-founder and current co-chair of the main fundraiser for the BIASC, the Run for Thought 5K, which has raised over $180,000 over the last nine years. She also is a member of Anderson University’s Physical Therapy School Program Advisory Council, and she sits on the Regulatory and Legislative Committee of the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association. Elizabeth is the Co-Inventor of the Lower Limb Stretching device, and PI of the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Research Foundation grant: “Lower Limb (Ankle) Stretching via the Vittori device” for a clinical trial of the Lower Limb Stretching device, one of Moterum Technologies Pipeline Products.
Charles Goetz

Goetz is still actively involved in investing in new businesses and sits on a number of both private business and not-for-profit boards. As a lecturer, Goetz teaches BBA, MBA, Executive MBA and PhD students’ the following courses: Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Applied Entrepreneurship, Business Development, and directed study. Goetz has written three books. They are: The Great Entrepreneurial Divide – The Winning Tactics of Successful Entrepreneurs and Why Everyone Else Fails! and So You Want to Start a Business? – 8 Steps to Take Before Making the Leap. His third book is his first novel, a political thriller. It is titled Angels of Conspiracy and will be released soon.
In addition, Goetz is responsible for the development of “Marketnomics,” a mathematical model based on calculus that quantifies perceived customer value by product features resulting in product offerings with substantially greater value propositions at lower costs and higher demand. Goetz is regularly interviewed by both local and national media on small business and entrepreneurship topics. Examples of recent interviews include: CNN: Small businesses that do well in recessions; NPR: What small businesses need to do to be successful in difficult times; Fox News: The implications on small business of the health care legislation.
Douglas Goldstein

His forthcoming book is “We Are Data.” As a thought leader he has delivered over 300 talks and workshops for leading health and life sciences organizations. Recently, Doug served as the Innovation Officer for the Inova Center for Personalized Health where he led the development of new value and outcome based clinical and business relationships with global life sciences and medical device companies. In this role he worked with in excess of 50 leading global life sciences, medical devices and healthcare leaders on new solutions.The Inova Center for Personalized Health is 117 acre campus on the Washington DC beltway that is being transformed into a translational research, drug discovery and innovation center.
Previously, Doug serve as a senior executive leading innovation and development for HealthGrades, Inc., Wolters Kluwer Innovation Lab, PatientPoint, Merck’s Vree Health and others. As CEO of Health Online, Inc., he was a first mover in the syndicated health Web portal services market and raised $4.2M in capital from BancBoston Ventures and Allina Health. Doug was also an early innovator in digital mobile health services. In 2008, as CEO of iConecto, Inc. he developed “Health@Anywhere” which was a mobile, social, gaming App experience integrating cognitive PTSD therapy and physical therapy for Wounded Warriors. The solution was a finalist in VAi2 Innovation Grant Program. Currently, he is the Managing Director of eFuturist, Inc. which delivers insights, innovations and solutions to guide leaders in navigating the dynamics of today’s fitness, health and medical markets, smarter.
